In 2014 my friends lured me on a mountain biking trip to Northern Norway. After that trip I knew I needed more mountains in my life and after a few years I moved north. Norwegian philosopher Arne Næss said that there are no old cultures who think of mountains as only piles of minerals but as holy places. For a secular Finnish person that thought has been a strong idea. Journalistically this mountain life seems challenging. How to tell stories that are relatable to a person who does not move in the mountains? How to tell something that is not about hedonistic escapism?
